Big day today - Artie was “sick?” - Hanging with his realtor?

However, AS SOON as I turned on the show at around 10:45am, Artie RUSHED OUT OF THE STUDIO! What’s up with that?

I think he is on OxyContin. It runs rampant in Jersey and he could easily get his hands on a few 80 mg pills for 100 bucks. Just listening to them describe what he has been doing at work (sunglasses, nodding off, needing a nap, etc..) leads me to believe he is crushing and snorting Oxy. It could be Heroin too but he swears up and down he is not on H so my guess is the Oxy. No one has asked him about that yet.

NO NO NO, not hillbilly heroin. How can people even funtion on that stuff. I guess Artie is a savvy vet when it come to drugs and even if hes on something he could pull it off and be a ‘functioning’ drug addict, he did it before with the H.

Even a while back, Artie was supprisingly “normal” for being on Heroin. Although he was always dozing off, he was still activly participating in the show. Anyone that has/had people close to them on H should know that would be fairly difficult. Artie’s good at covering it up… or should I say making good excuses for his behavior.

Today Artie confessed that when taking a shit recently,
he had an episode where he was experiencing uncontrollable body spasms.
If you weigh about 150 pounds, try picking up something that weighs 150 pounds.
Now, don’t ever put it down.
Kinda puts a bit of a strain on your body, doesn’t it?
Artie’s body is under the stress of carrying an extra 150 pounds.
Add the stress of some powerful drugs and you are getting close to checkout time.

As a recovering addict & former oxy abuser, I can’t believe Artie’s using narcotics AND consuming 5,000+ calories a day. His new addiction is food & that will kill him just as easily. Artie needs help!

Addicts who are using are liars. It sure looks like Artie is using again. He has claimed to hold on to a bottle of Subutex or Suboxone as a “security blanket”. The thing about those drugs is that you can use opiates for a few days and then take the Subutex or Suboxone to cover up your withdrawal symptoms making it possible to come to work, function and even sound somewhat normal while bullshiting everyone. Also, I have never met an admitted addict who can continue to drink like a fish and gamble like a degenerate who doesn’t eventually go back to his drug of choice.

I really think that if artie was on drugs he would be losing weight. Right now he is just so out of shape and that is what accounts for all the drowsiness. The funniest thing was on Howard TV when Artie was sleeping on a couch and they woke him up, he went right for a cupcake out of the box they must have placed there for him.

Artie sure did lay low when this site was brought up.
He is so talented. What a waste. I love him but; I am so sick of his lazy don’t care attitude. It is so insulting to his fans and to HOWARD and the rest of the staff. Wish he would grow up and get it together! No wonder Dana dumped him. At this point he doesn’t deserve a relationship. I have faith he can turn it around. Doesn’t seen like he’s ready though. Too bad.

Somebody posted earlier that Subutex is a miracle drug and that if he’s not taking it daily he should be. Now I’m not a Dr. but I have alot of friends who have gone through what Artie had/is and I’ve been told that Subutex/Suboxone is used to eliminate virtually all of the pain of physical withdrawal when someone is on junk but that they are then immediately weaned of the Subutex/Suboxone because even though they are anti-opiates or opiate-blockers they still contain a small amount of opiates as well as many other very addictive substances. Basically it is a very addictive and very dangerous drug in its own right that is only used to help get people off junk because of the enormous physical danger associated with heroin addiction and withdrawal. I think that with this situation some intervening factor will take hold and Artie will clean up (b/c I think it is extremely likely at this point that he is doing dope again) and once he does he will be honest about what he’s been doing on the show for the last month or so. I think things like this site and howards incessant badgering of him about whether or not he’s back on drugs (which howard seems to be doing b/c he doesn’t believe artie when artie tells him he’s not getting high anymore) will eventually get Artie to look his situation in the eye and clean up. Artie - spray some hair on the back of your head and get yourself to a nice posh rehab so you can get your perspective back and not fuck your shit up any worse.

Being a fat ass doesn’t make someone nod out. Anybody who knows people who have been on HEROIN know that when someone has any history of heroin abuse and is nodding out all the time there is only one explanation - they are back on dope. There is no way that Artie’s drowsiness and nodding off can be attributed to his massive weight gain. Also it’s not at all true that dope fiends lose weight. It is common for dope addicts to lose weight because they end up having to spend all their money on dope to feed their addictions - the dope doesn’t make them stop wanting to eat, it’s their economic situation that does that - Artie has a ton of loot and therefore it would be perfectly sensible for him to not only maintain his weight but also to gain weight while getting high. I think what happened (and I’ll bet there is a 90% chance I am exactly right) was that after the last time Artie cleaned up the Dr. probably weaned him off dope with Subutex and then get him off the subutex and gave him anti-depressants for the long term. I think Artie stayed clean for many months while taking the anti-depressants (probably lexapro or something) and that is when he did that majority of his absurd eating and gained the majority of this weight (because anti-derpessants put up a shell around someone they allow them to do what they want when they want without thinking of the practical repurcussions - hence the numerous cases of people who gain 50-100 pds. within their first 6 months of being on anti-depressants.

artie says hes not doing dope i believe him i think hes doing oxycontin all the symptoms add up i know ive been there from the guilt to weight gain tonodding to everything he is guilty of .for him to quit he has to want to and the way his lifestyle is i dont see him changing anytime in the near future.. i wish we could all help him and each other…////!!!

Artie claims to not have done Coke in years…
but even that is a lie.
Today he pissed off Bob Saget, by mentioning an unpaid debt.
Saget retaliated with a story of Artie accepting Cocaine, in his presence.
Artie hustled to come up with a cover story.
Something about accepting it only because he was drunk
and throwing it away the next day.
#1. Artie is often drunk
#2. If Artie didn’t do Coke, he would give it to one of his friends who does do Coke,
he wouldn’t throw it away.
Artie is a junkie.
Like Artiecontin says, other junkies are skinny because they spend their food money on heroin.
Artie is rich, so he can binge all he wants.

Artie has told the Bob Sagat story before. Besides, he didn’t say he throught the coke out. He through out the guys phone # that said he would get it for him…
I do however, think that Artie is back on something. I hope not, but I suspect, just like most of you, that it’s probably pain killers or some other opiate.

Sorry guys but I’ve yet to meet a fat junkie. Not to mention one gaining weight. If he is using again, it’s just started & it won’t take long before it’s really obvious. I’m glad this web site has opened up some dialogue. shedding light on Artie’s problem can only have a positive effect.

Artiecontin really sounds like he knows what hes talking about though. It does sound like a likely scenerio. Also, last time Artie told that Bob Saget story about being in Canada after he got the role in the movie I could have swore the he ssaid he was doing coke!

whoever started this site is a smart motherfucker and I think it’s utility and connection to the show has only just begun. I just heard the last bit of todays show for the first time and caught that second mention of this site by howard when Artie runs out of the studio for a minute during the news (he says something along the lines of “Oh good Artie’s gone so I can go on artiesondrugs.com, my new favorite sit”). I predict through howard and what the fans are gonna do with this site Artie will be admitting to relapsing back to dope and requesting rehab/a week to wean off with a Dr. within two or three months. Congratulations again to the guy who had the forsight to start up this webpage.

I hope Artie lives a long long life. Well at least until March 24th..I’ve got tickets to see him and if he drops dead before then, will I get my money back? He will make up his mind one day soon to go on diet and off drugs of drugs completely but everyone has to leave him alone or else he won’t ..

Vicodin or oxycontin. Subutex will make this happen also. Artie talked about how Subutex is a miracle drug that makes withdrawl from opiates easy. Take it from me there is NO easy, feel good way to get off opiates. It will be up to Artie to stop.

i was watching an old episode on howard TV with elliot offen…artie was slim…tan and in full of piss and herion…lets face it…artie is very close to death….he is now bigger than most of the sopranos…he is hovering in high pitch weight catagories…and its such a shame…his career is flying high…pussy is at his feet (which he cant see - explaining why he is not getting laid)…and he is about to become the donald trump of bayone…
i’m sorry to say i dont think artie will live past june…its was nice knowing yee ….ya fat fuck.

Hes probably smokin fentanyl patches. Its easy to hide and gets you alot higher than herion or oxycontin does. Artie can then take suboxone pills to cover up the withdrawal symptoms. Im a former user and did all this and still went to work and was a “functioning addict”. I found myself nodding out at embarrasing times(live on a radio show),covering it up (the sun glasses cover his small pupils and his bullshit excuses everytime he needs a hit) and i went from a fit person to a fat, out of shape slob who craved sweets(just look at him). Also no one has commented on this so far: the times artie says dumb irrelevant shit or sings or just generally sounds like hes in a euphoric state of mind. A few examples from todays show: His story about the World Trade Center movie, and when Stern mentioned the lollipope song, he started singing it. Acting in this manner is what finally drew the attention of my friends and family that there was a drug problem.

Arties out again today. There’s seriously something wrong. I gained a hundred pounds basically overnight (not by eating like Artie does) and I never have jerking or falling asleep. There’s something wrong and he has to be on heroin again. He’s not sick, maybe sick of work and wanting to stay at home and smoke.

After doing those type of drugs for a period of time they cease to get
people “high” and it just makes them feel not sick so he may be on the H or oxy and still functioning just because of his high tolerance.

It seems to me that Artie has a grip now…I don’t think he has been drinking much, and for sure he is not going the Heroin route…NO WAY.
I think he is handling it pretty well. It must be difficult to stop for him, but I REALLY think he has a grip on things. I love Artie so much.
